The Town of Strasburg, founded in 1761 and incorporated in February 1922, is known for pottery, antiques, civil war history, and breathtaking views.

Strasburg is nestled in the valley of the Shenandoah River with vistas of Massanutten Mountain and the Allegheny foothills.

Strasburg Municipal Park (Town Park) has a swimming pool, picnic tables and shelters, a ball diamond, a soccer field, a playground with modern equipment, and access to the Shenandoah River. For more information, call 540-465-8130.

The County Park contains a picnic shelter, tennis courts, volleyball courts, three softball fields, a playground, and fitness trail.

Signal Knob Recreation Center has a regulation size full court for basketball and volleyball; a bowling alley; an indoor, full size, heated pool, and a weight room. You can call 540-465-9430 for more information.

DOG OWNERS
Dogs are not allowed to run at large in the Town of Strasburg and should be licensed by Shenandoah County. The license is sold at the Treasurer's office in Woodstock. For more information, call 540-465-3621.

GARBAGE COLLECTION
Garbage collection is on Friday for the entire town. Garbage should be placed by the curb by 7:00 a.m. for collection.

PARKING
The Town of Strasburg offers two-hour parking in the downtown area. It also has two-hour parking spaces on the municipal lot and a parking lot behind the fire hall.

POLICE PROTECTION
The Strasburg Police Department offers as a courtesy "Vacant House Checks" while you are on vacation or absent from your home for a period of time. Call the Police Department at 540-465-5230 Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM
